The Legend of Zang Hai Episode 6 Recap. Starring Xiao Zhan and Zhang Jingyi.

The Legend of Zang Hai Episode 6 RecapStarring Xiao Zhan and Zhang Jingyi. "Tomb of the Living Dead”

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

In Episode 6 of Legend of Zang Hai, political intrigue and supernatural fears collide as Zang Hai navigates a deadly game of manipulation and survival.

The episode opens with rumors of the late emperor’s ghost haunting the imperial mausoleum, sparking panic across the court.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Zhuang Luyin, desperate to avoid blame for the mausoleum’s structural failures, tasks Yang Zhen and Chu Huaiming with resolving the crisis.

They seize the opportunity to frame Zang Hai, citing his "auspicious birth chart" as a sign that he should oversee repairs—and perhaps even be buried alive with the emperor to appease the spirits.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Aware of their lethal intentions, Zang Hai accepts the role of Assistant Director of the Spiritual Platform at the Imperial Astronomical Bureau.

He confides in Gao Ming, who vows to support him, and outlines three tasks for his ally to complete during the three-month repair period.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Upon arriving at the mausoleum, Zang Hai discovers Chu Huaiming has already tampered with the site, allowing groundwater from the diverted You River to flood the tomb.

Zang Hai exposes Chu Huaiming’s negligence and orders emergency waterproofing, enlisting the help of Ji Qun, a disgraced craftsman and former friend of his late father, Kuai Duo.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Ji Qun, unaware of Zang Hai’s true identity, reveals he had reported the flooding years earlier but was silenced by Chu Huaiming.

Zang Hai, hiding his emotions, works tirelessly to repair the mausoleum, using fire- and water-resistant materials like lime.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Meanwhile, Gao Ming executes Zang Hai’s plan to destabilize Zhuang Luyin.

He disguises himself as a blind fortune-teller, uses horse urine to spook Zhuang Luyin’s carriage, and delivers a chilling prophecy about impending doom.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Zhuang Luyin, rattled, invites Gao Ming for a private divination. Gao Ming manipulates the ritual, causing Zhuang Luyin’s "inauspicious" fortune stick to magically transform into a neutral one—a ploy to plant doubt in Zhuang Luyin’s mind.

As tensions rise, Zhuang Zhixing exposes Chu Huaiming’s embezzlement of waterproofing funds, enraging Zhuang Luyin.

Legend of Zang Hai - Xiao Zhan

Yang Zhen seizes the moment to push for Zang Hai’s sacrificial burial, and Zhuang Luyin reluctantly agrees.

Despite completing the repairs on schedule, Zang Hai faces a grim fate: Chu Huaiming orders Ji Qun and eight other craftsmen to be buried alive with the emperor, then announces that Zang Hai has "volunteered" to join the empress dowager’s tomb—a trap Zang Hai accepts without hesitation, setting the stage for a daring escape or deadly confrontation.
